Sean Rivera, founder of The Catering Group NY, has deep roots in the catering business that you can trust. He started while attending NYU and cut his teeth with one of the country’s top caterers in the late 90s and was then recruited to work with the CBS Sports Sales Department while working a catered affair at the US Open. He soon left CBS to become an entrepreneur and never work 9-5 again, owning a few companies along the way, including a popular NYC bar and restaurant. Sean’s passion for greeting guests and being front-of-house came full circle when he was asked to start his own catering business after several successful fundraisers for the Battery Park City school his son attended. There, Sean also attracted attention for the company’s “Serve It Forward” philosophy. The Catering Group NY holds giving back as its highest motivation, to creating something that would be a brand-value for many years to come. Tracie has over 20 years’ experience in corporate event planning. She started her career with a Tech Start-Up managing their corporate events. In 1998 she joined a Fortune 10, consumer packaged goods company where she was responsible for the planning and implementation of Customer Recognition Events. She left them in 2003 for a Fortune 20 company in the Finance Sector where she managed Employee Award Recognition programs. In 2010, Tracie left the corporate world and began working with New York City-based non-profit organizations where she was responsible for all facets of their gala fundraising, from honoree selection to fundraising strategy to logistics. Tracie joined forces in 2012 with Sean to help build The Catering Group NY, bringing her skills and aesthetics to the Catering World.
